The benefits of learning with Learn@home Music Studio
The studio is located in the Woodside area of Dudley, with Merry Hill Shopping Centre close by. There is parking opposite. Inside there is a seating area for parents with free Wi-Fi (currently unavailable due to covid restrictions).
Our secure parent and student portal makes sure you can track you/your child's progress with access to the lesson notes, log home practice, book or cancel lessons and clubs on the calendar, contact the teacher and much more.
The Student Zone ensures the learning can continue at home.
Modern technology allows lessons to be conducted online via Zoom or alternative platforms.
Every adult has been subjected to an Enhanced DBS check. We carry ID cards and keep safeguarding and first aid training up to date.
We have carried out Covid and fire risk assessments and all students and parents must follow our new policy. In event of sickness, online lessons will be offered as an alternative.
Small in size but jam-packed with technology for recording and songwriting, apps, a large selection of resources and games, rewards and music books.
Our other local venues provide plenty of space for ensembles, group activities and performance.
Fun and Rewarding
Learning is more productive when we are having fun and so we learn through apps and games in addition to traditional method books.
We love to give out reward stickers during lessons, certificates and medals for studio challenges and progress as well as the Player's Award given out at the end of year recital.
We have trips to musical events and put on social events. We recently raised £112.50 for Comic Relief.
The teacher is an accomplished musician of at least grade 8 standard with Qualified Teacher Status and takes part in monthly professional development.
We have a 100% practical exam pass rate and our students win frequently at music festivals.
For younger students there is an opportunity to consider auditioning for a variety of national bands and orchestras such as the National Youth Brass Band of Great Britain and the National Youth Orchestra.
We teach all our students to become well-rounded musicians by setting studio challenges that will develop a student's musical skills to cover a wide range of music genres, styles and technical aspects such as scales, aural tests, theory, improvisation and composition.
Students always work towards an examination even if they prefer not to sit it formally. We offer exams with all the major exam boards, that from grade 6 onwards carry UCAS points. Theory is also taught in every lesson.
We offer online revision for GCSE and A-Level students or those just wanting to learn theory.
